The beloved cast from the original three Star Wars movies go down in history as some of the most talented in all of cinema history. Breathing life into fandom and nerd culture alike, we see where the cast are now or in the case of some – some of the projects they did during their life.

Mark Hamill – Luke Skywalker

The poster-boy for the original trilogy, Mark Hamill aka Luke Skywalker, made his name off his performance in Star Wars. He’s since become a pop culture icon by appearing in multiple tv shows, voicing the Joker in DC animation and the Batman Arkham Asylum games.

His latest project was returning for the new Star Wars movie ‘Rise of Skywalker’.  He also is going to be in a Television series called ‘Invincible’ set to release in 2020.

Carrie Fisher – Princess Leia Organa

Sadly, Carrie Fisher, our Princess Leia passed away whilst filming the new Star Wars trilogy. Both the fandom and the movie industry at large mourned her passing as she was one of the vital characters.

Her daughter, Billie Lourde has gone on to become a popular actor, appearing in the new Star Wars Trilogy alongside her mother.

Harrison Ford – Han Solo

One of Hollywood’s most legendary actors, Harrison Ford has been in it all. And Han Solo is arguably the biggest role he has played during his long tenure (second only to Indiana Jones).

His current projects include: ‘Call of the Wild’, a live-action CGI animated adventure film about a hunt for gold and there must surely be another Indiana Jones movie in his future.

Billy Dee Williams – Lando Calrissian

Playing the best dressed scoundrel in Star Wars, Lando Calrissian is one of BIlly Dee Williams’ best known characters. His most recent project was reprising his role as the swave smuggler, turned Rebel Commander in ‘Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker’, helping a new wave of heroes track down the latest evil threatening a Galaxy Far, Far away.

Peter Mayhew – Chewbacca

Peter Mayhew played everyone’s favourite furry companion in the original trilogy. Being compared to a friendly giant all of his life, he only appeared in a handful of roles, but most of them were Chewbacca.

Peter Mayhew lost his life in 2019 and his final film was the ‘Star Wars; The Force Awakens’ where he shared his role as Chewbacca with Joonas Suotamo due to his ill health in his later years.

James Earl Jones – Voice of Darth Vader

The legendary actor behind the voice of Darth Vader, James Earl Jones is behind some of the most recognisable characters in cinematic history. He voiced Darth Vader in nearly every Star Wars film.

He’s also the voice of Mufasa in both the original and live-action remake of Lion King (2019). He’s also working on a new project, ‘Coming 2 America’, a sequel to ‘Coming to America’.

Ian McDiarmid – Emperor Palpatine

Ian McDarmid is the most cunning, evil, Sith Lord to ever set foot in the Galaxy. Portraying the Emperor of known space, Ian has been in all of the trilogies and his latest stint as the legendary baddie was in ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’.

Kenny Baker – R2-D2

Kenny Baker was the beloved R2-D2 for the Star Wars films until the ‘Force Awakens’, where he took the opportunity to cement himself in cinema history. He played roles in many films from Flash Gordon to Time Bandits and Narnia. R2-D2 was his most well known role and he ended his career reprising the role before passing away.

Anthony Daniels – C-3PO

Anthony Daniels portrayed the legendary and ever-present protocol droid, C-3PO. He has appeared in all theatrical films in the Star Wars franchise and has made a career out of portraying him and other characters within the universe. After appearing in ‘Rise of Skywalker’, we’re not sure what Anthony Daniels is going to be in next, but we’re putting our money on it being something Star Wars related.
